We want your ideas, skills, and engagement! We welcome fresh ideas, new perspectives, and thrive in diversity.
All Scouting programs are volunteer led. Putting on a quality program and fulfilling the mission of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) requires everyone’s help. It’s a bit like the adage “it takes a village” and when we share the load, everyone is more efficient so it’s a win-win!
No experience is necessary to be a leader
The BSA has a wealth of training and resources available. You can learn as you go, and we’ll be there every step of the way! So, if you’re nervous or apprehensive, just know that’s perfectly ok. Together we will ensure your success. Being a leader is not only a great way to ensure that your child experiences a fantastic program, but is also an opportunity for personal growth. The skills and experiences you gain while serving in a leadership position can also be advantageous for your career! This could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!
We need YOU!
We invite you to add your talents and interests to the team so that the best possible program can be developed for each Scout. We want to know about you, your skills, and even if you “know someone” who can add to the program. Please fill out a Family Talent Survey and email it to 787pack@gmail.com. We would appreciate if each adult family member could fill out a separate survey. If you filled one out last year, please submit a new one so we can stay up to date (we know you picked up some new skills this year).
In Pack 787, every family contributes in some way. We have a variety of positions and other tasks to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. Some positions
directly lead adventures with the kids, some coordinate with parents, and some are behind the scenes administrative tasks. The list and assignments are subject to change each year as families graduate, move, new families join, or leaders wish to change positions. Leaders do not have to hold the same position forever. A Den Leader may become Cubmaster, a Cubmaster may become Advancement Chair, etc.
Each family is obligated to fulfill at least one commitment each year.
BONUS: Statistically the kids of parents who are actively involved get more out of the program, and stay with Scouting longer!
